For the price range it's in, it is the best buy. Results are better than described in the instructions. I dehydrate herbs all the way to beef jerky.  As a single parent wanting to store smaller amounts of dehydrated foods, I find this Nesco 600-Watt Food Dehydrator little device all I need. I prep the goodies while my son eats dinner and turn it on just when we head to bed and everything's ready to store by morning.

It's all we need to get amazing dehydrated food to store for a long time. Also saves me a great deal when spinach or fruitless or other veggies are just about to be of no use... I automatically put them in Nesco 600-Watt Food Dehydrator  and I save myself a bundle with out spoiling food. Excellent Appliance!

The Nesco 600-Watt Food Dehydrator package includes three samples of their original jerky cure and it is very tasty. We have tried it both as a marinade with round steak and mixed directly with ground beef. It is a little strong when using with one pound of ground beef. We have also made a batch with pot roast seasoning in water as the marinade and it is our favorite flavor so far.

The jerky only takes about 4 hours and is a hit at our house! You will grow a beard waiting for bananas to dry if you buy a cheap food dehydrator without a fan. Some banana slices may dry like poker chips while others remain moist. Making bark or fruit leather is nearly impossible without a fan.

I did peaches (very good), cantalopes (different), and lots of ripe local tomatoes. Everything has turned out very well except for raspberries which took forever to dry and were too tart to eat as snacks. Machine is well made.
